Press Release Body: The third semi-final between the Chennai Superstars and the Kolkata Tigers saw the Tigers losing the match like yesterday but this time by a very big margin. The Superstars defeated the Tigers by a whopping 32 runs and Sathish was declared the Man of the Match.
The Chennai Superstars won the toss and elected to bat first against the Tigers. A new opener Devendran who came in with Vignesh was not able to face the bowling attack for long and was dismissed at just 7 runs on a delivery by Ahmid. Vignesh stayed for longer however and made 40 runs before he was caught off Ahmed's delivery. He made this score off just 19 balls. Meanwhile Arnold came and departed with just 9 runs made by him. Badani however did not lose his stance and went on to make 36 runs. The star of the match was R Sathish who scored 86 runs. The team total went up to 186 runs.
The Kolkata Tigers came on to bat with Dasgupta and Klusner to open the strike. The former managed 34 runs whereas Klusner who made 91 runs yesterday wound up on 14 runs today. After the departure of Dasgupta, we failed to see any player give a superb or outstanding innings which was so much required for them to win the match. Captain McMillan managed to score 35 runs and was the top scorer in the match. However the efforts of the players were nowhere up to the mark such that they deserved the win. Kumaran and Devendran from the Superstars gave the Tigers a difficult time and got three wickets each for themselves. The Superstars have now risen to the third spot in the series after this win by 32 runs. Lets hope for good action in the final matches.
